Do you love me? Are you playing your love games with me?

Let it be known that the following people, fictional or otherwise, are invited to be my valentine today. (Yes, I keep adding and rearranging people as the day goes on. You wanna make something of it?) Others shall be accepted on a case-by-case basis. In order to apply, you will need to complete the following application form in the comments. Name/Internet handle: I am awesome because: Here are my big exciting Valentine's Day plans (Aren't they enticing? Pick me! Pick me!): Srah is, of course, my first choice for a valentine, but if I had to pick, the runner-up would...

People lying in the woods, eating sandwiches?

I came to my meagre appreciation poetry because of the movies. I don't feel that any effort was really made in my education to encourage us to read or enjoy poetry... off the top of my head, I can't remember ever reading any in school. So when I was growing up and especially in my first year of college, poetry was something to be feared - something written by Jewel and angsty college freshmen and other people with no talent. Not having had that basis in school, I have to say that my poetical education is very limited, extending mostly...

Conversation with Gollum srah

I have just been struck with an idea for a complete re-design and re-structuring of JohnHannah.net. I want to get started on it right away. But I have so many other things to do. Poor, neglected JH.net. I haven't been giving you the attention you deserve for... oh, about a year. I will save you soon. But I have to clean my room first. Mommy said so. I need to have priorities, and JohnHannah.net isn't as high a priority as real life. Besides, we haven't even finished the blog archives, so we shouldn't go starting something new... Real life? Who...

I dreamt last night that Robin and I were lurking around John Hannah's country home, trying to find things that belonged to him to quickly steal as souvenirs before he got home and caught us....

Poor neglected JH(.net)

I haven't been able to do much with JohnHannah.net since I've been here, so it's sort of just sat there and waited patiently for me. It still loves me, in its fashion, even though I forgot its birthday a month ago. So I would like to take this day to thank JohnHannah.net for its patience and to tell it that I will be home soon to make everything all better and give it new pages and make it pretty. And while I'm at it, thanks and happy birthday to John Hannah, without whom there would be no JohnHannah.net. Or maybe...

To quote Professor Higgins...

Damn, damn, damn, damn. I can't keep up my own website's News page, so I miss out on things like little-known, little-seen John Hannah work being shown 50km from chez moi. Drat drat drat fie. Perhaps we'll have access back when I return?...

What a dreamful week I've been having! I'm sure you don't care, but I like to record them and perhaps in reading them, you will realize exactly how bizarre things are in my head. First I was on a tour bus in England and Neil Dudgeon, John Hannah and Joanna Roth were there as well. Neil was right behind me, but the other two were way at the back of the bus. The tour guide announced that we weren't going to be able to watch the video she'd planned to show in the bus because she'd left it at the...

It bothers my sister when I go

Bork! When I talked to Becky on the phone last night, it was reported to me that the lovely and talented John Hannah was featured in the Surprisingly Sexy section of People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive issue, apparently just across the page from the lummy Alan Rickman. Ha! What is so surprising, exactly? I am only disappointed they didn't figure more prominently. Bork!...

Dream (28.9.02)

I had a very pleasant dream last night where I was watching the first episode of MDs. Dr. Dalgety arrived at the hospital and Dr. Kellerman, the reckless rule-breaking doctor already installed at the hospital, didn't like him. He didn't trust Dr. Dalgety because he suspected he was one of them. I was rather disappointed that Dr. Kellerman wasn't better-looking - he looked sort of like a ferret. There was a sort of segue as the show started to focus on the medical students, à la Scrubs. Now I was in the dream and was the main character, who was...

I realized no one's seen the new site yet because it's 7:30am on a Monday in the US. Never mind my loneliness. Don't forget to watch this on Wednesday!...

I'm With... myself, actually

I went tonight to see I'm With Lucy, a John Hannah film that has been released in France and nowhere else. I saw it dubbed into French, because I figured that was better than not seeing it at all. It was kind of oddly composed and I think that if I had been making it, I would have done it differently... or made it into two separate movies. Anyway, it was very entertaining, so I recommend it. I'm sure I'll see it again. The problem I had with the movie was that it was very romantic and made me feel...

John Hannah likes to avoid me

When I went to see Pandaemonium at the London Film Festival, John Hannah was in the U.S. When he was filming "Alias" in the U.S., I was in France. Ho hum. Well, the announcement came yesterday that ABC has picked up John Hannah's pilot, "The Oath" (renamed "Meds" - I gotta make some time to fix that!) for next fall. It's described as... "a one-hour drama featuring renegade doctors trying to undercut the frugal HMO that runs their San Francisco hospital. ABC compares its mix of comedy and drama to "M*A*S*H."" Excellennnnnt, as Mr Burns would say. Which means I'll...

Graduation countdown: 7 days

7 days. One week to go till I'm sitting up there, either sweating in my graduation robes in the hot sun or with the rain running off my taller neighbor's mortarboard and all over me, while some investment-guy alum blathers on to us and PT lisps about how excellent our class is and rah rah Liberal Arts at Work. Can you tell I'm looking forward to it? One day last summer someone signed the guestbook on my website, leaving their name as "John Hannah". 'Yeah right,' I snorted, and went on with my life. Then a few days later, he...

The Friday Five (Illustrated)

1. If you could eat dinner with and "get to know" one famous person (living or dead), who would you choose? John Hannah, of course! I've already met him, but I would love to talk to him again. And dinner is good, too! If I had to pick someone new who I'd never met, I'd go with my favorite celebrity crush (?) of the moment, Moby. 2. Has the death of a famous person ever had an effect on you? Who was it and how did you feel? Not that I can think of. I mean, there have been famous...

Keep the change, ya filthy animal

According to Celeb Match, I am 100% compatible with the skank-nasty Macaulay Culkin. Apparently compatibility is based on the fact that we were born on the exact same day. Thrilling. My runners-up are Tarso Marques (who?), Noah Bastian (who?), Chris Klein, and Randy Moss (who? sounds like a football player). I think I'll go shopping for someone better. Kevin Kline - 15% :( Mike Myers - 98% Jean Reno - 60% Alan Rickman - 94% Kevin Spacey - 74% Not bad. Too bad JH isn't on the list... [via Skittles?]...

Our Belgian suitemate, Christianna, brought us

Our Belgian suitemate, Christianna, brought Roommate and me each a copy of this CD, which was, until recently, only available in Europe. Two CD set. Good deal. Merry Christmas. I notice they (CDNow) got the title of the first track ("Cocoon Crash") wrong. As Jonathan in The Mummy would say, "Americans!"...

I got an email

I got an email from a French John Hannah fan (yes, they exist!) today so I replied in French. She just wrote me back, saying that if I hadn't said I was American, she would have thought I was just a mis-typing French person. Things like that make me feel warm and sunny. Why is American both an adjective and a noun, but you can't say "a French" or "a Chinese" or "an English"? In French, the adjective and noun are always the same. It's easier. I don't like having to add "person". Weird - you can say "the French"...

Mr Enlow is playing a game

Mr Enlow is playing a game where you try to come up with a the largest group possible of people who have been in movies together. At least that's how I've understood the rules. This is one I've come up with: Bernard Hill was in Madagascar Skin with John Hannah, Dirty Something with Rachel Weisz, and Titanic with Jonathan Hyde. John Hannah, Rachel Weisz, and Jonathan Hyde were all in The Mummy. After four it gets really complicated. I give up. Damned Andy Serkis got my hopes up....

Srah's weekly JHAC-copied "Alias" recap/review

Srah's weekly JHAC-copied "Alias" recap/review (I promise, it's the last... unless Shepard becomes a recurring character...) Rather than a few brief encounters in the last fifteen minutes, JH was a major character in the first half hour of the show. It makes me wonder how this show is written, because it seems that they end one thread of a story very promptly on the half-hour or the quarter-hour. Anyway... When last we saw Sydney, she had a look of open-eyed and open-mouthed horror as she had discovered her partner with his neck slit. Mmmmm. Then along came the guards and...

Watched "Alias" tonight

Watched "Alias" tonight because John Hannah was on. My thoughts? I'm lazy and have just copied my JHAC post. The first time I saw the photo of Shepard (John Hannah), I squealed and Alex rolled up into a little ball, making fun of me. It feels like it's been a long time since I've seen him in something *new*. I've seen old projects I just got ahold of, but it's been several months since TMR. For the longest time, I thought I was watching the wrong episode because there was no mention of Shepard and they didn't seem to be...

Patti LuPone was in Witness

Patti LuPone was in WITNESS with... Harrison Ford who was in INDIANA JONES directed by... Steven Spielberg who directed SAVING PRIVATE RYAN with... Tom Hanks who was in PHILADELPHIA with... Denzel Washington who was in THE HURRICANE with... John Hannah who... I met this summer. I think that's seven degrees of separation. If you want to cheat about it, you can go to The Oracle of Bacon. The Oracle says I'm three degrees from Patti, but I never would have thought of David Paymer....
