Radio: Blah blah blah blah blah Les Miles. me: Could we STOP TALKING ABOUT LES MILES? Les Miles doesn't want to be here. Les Miles rejected us. If Les Miles changed his mind and wanted us all of a sudden, I wouldn't want him. Just give it up already! Stop dwelling on stupid Les Miles and move on! Radio: Blah blah blah Charlie Weis. me: "Charlie Weis should probably eat less!" srahfamily: ... me: Um... I said, "l-e-s-s." But that works, too....

This is a really exciting time to be a Michigan fan. My director is a Notre Dame graduate, so this afternoon when talk turned to weekend plans, our conversation was basically My Team Is Going to Lose to Your Team. Both teams are 0-2 for the season so far, and going up against each other this weekend in what has been referred to as "Cripple Fight 2007" or "The Slump Buster Bowl". I think we have the advantage for MTIGTLTYT, though, with a freshman quarterback with half a game's experience (as opposed to a freshman quarterback with two games' experience),...

Some Pig Owl

So it seems like everyone's really excited about some owl this weekend. They're even throwing big parties for it, and they're going to be televising it for, like, 3.5 hours this evening. I don't really get it or why everyone thinks it's so superb, but I hear they're going to have some pretty good commercials on in between the avian coverage, so I guess I'll watch that. Go little Exlee, or whatever your name is....

I am so conflicted. On one hand, I am really excited that the creator of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and the Indiana Jones movies is going to be the Grand Marshal of the Rose Bowl parade this year. On the other hand, I am really disappointed that the creator of The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Smeaaaaaaghth, Revenge of the Sith, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor and Howard the Duck is going to be the Grand Marshal of the Rose Bowl parade this year. Hmmmm... Alright, now I am finally upset about being...

My local evening news program has informed me that instead of the usual rioting and car-flipping, OSU fans have been celebrating by carrying around chunks of dirt. Ain't no party like a Columbus party....

I went shopping on Sunday, as I am wont to do but don't want to do¹. At 4pm, every television in the mall turned to the Bengals game. I don't just mean that they turned to the game in electronics stores or in bar/grills within the malls. I mean that when I was taking a break from the Hell That Is Holiday Shopping (and Gaucho Pants) by playing I'm Going To Buy This For You/Shopping For a Dress For a Wedding I Already Went To in the formalwear section in Dillards, the TVs in that section that usually show music...
srah's Super Bowl halftime update

Who are you cheering for? I'm rooting for FedEx myself. Ah, that Burt Reynolds! Oh... there's a football game on? Well, if I have to pick a team, I'll cheer for Philadelphia. I base this decision on absolutely no knowledge of professional football and the conviction that there's something creepy about Tom Brady. Paul McCartney's halftime show is making me uncomfortable. I don't know what it is, but I feel very uneasy and on edge. It's like watching someone you know on stage - you want them to do very well, but there's this terrifying feeling that they will fail...

I question the logic of theming this year's Super Bowl halftime show "The Hits of Three Years Ago, As Performed By Has-Beens." As far as I know*, the only one in the mess who has a song currently playing on the radio is Kid Rock, and rather than sing that one, he sang his Big Hits of 1998 or whatever they were. The worst offender in this category was Michael "Janet" Jackson, who hasn't had a hit in years, but was for some reason the headlining performer. He has got to be the richest person in the world. He owns...

I imagine that I will spend the evening watching the Super Bowl, then running into the office to work on Programming homework between the commercials. Apparently this year they have some football game or something on as filler. *shrug* Where do they get these ideas?...

It's Super Bowl time again. For some reason, they break up the Super Bowl Commercials Show with a whole bunch of football breaks, so I usually watch it on tape in order to be able to fast-forward through them. I don't think I have blank tapes around this year, so I may be forced to watch it live. Sigh....
