I guest-posted at Jamelah.net today. So if you're interested in insane rants on the intersection of food and children's literature, that is where you should be....

In the last few days, I've been plagued by a series of old people in line in front of me, holding up the line because they're busy nattering on to the cashier about their life stories and complaining about The Way Things Are Today. That's what blogs are for, old people. Get with the times....

Frightening realization: My new haircut makes me look less like Rachael Leigh Cook in She's All That and more like Rachael Leigh Cook as Mary Anne Spier in The Baby-Sitters Club. I am totally going to fit in in Stamford this weekend! Maybe I will pick up some baby-sitting gigs or solve a mystery while I am there. Or maybe I need to find a new hairstyle inspiration that is closer to my own age. (Speaking of the BSC, this is unspeakably awesome. So I will speak of it no more for the next five minutes, at least.)...

There is one blog among my RSS feeds that never fails to brighten my day. Every time I go to check my Bloglines account, I hope that there will be a new post to read. That blog is The Comics Curmudgeon. If you want to stay up-to-date on Mary Worth's stalker, Lizardbreath Patterson's impending return to her stupid ex-boyfriend or the tame bear-saga that's been going on in Mark Trail, this is the place to go. Please go read this blog, so that I don't feel like such a loser when everyone else is talking about what happened on Grey's...

Dear Associated Press, I have been an avid reader of Ken Jennings' blog for a whole month but I never even got how eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil he was. Silly me, when I read the blog post about Jeopardy! last week, I thought it was a joke. Thanks for clearing that up, Associated Press. When Ken said: First up, the categories. Maybe when Art Fleming was alive, America just couldn’t get enough clues about “Botany” and “Ballet” and “The Renaissance,” but come on. Does every freaking category have to be some effete left-coast crap nobody’s heard of, like “Opera,” or, um, “U.S. History”...
My mission
posted by srah on January 17, 2002 3:13 PM
My mission, should I choose to accept it (I do) is to find five new blogs I like in as short a time as possible, not to exceed one hour. It is now 2:51pm. Erinaceus (2:53pm) - cute story. I like looking at slides. But where is Erin's BlogSnob ad? Grrrr. Oh well. The Weblog Review (3:08pm) - I want to be reviewed. RobbyB.com (3:10pm) - I sympathize with the independence issues. yellow bellow (3:13pm) - I had never really looked at the pretzel-choking incident that way. I thought it was just a good laugh, but - hey - if...

I have nothing better to do (well, I probably do) so I'm going SnobJumping. Maybe I'll manage a round trip. - srah blah blah - go.kid.go - blah blah blog (try the Venice skin!) - Blogatelle (fun) [I hate it when BlogSnob sites don't have BlogSnob ads. That's cheating, folks. I've tried reloading Blogatelle three times and each site I've gone to hasn't had a BlogSnob ad. Or if it did, I couldn't find it.] - Anicee's Digital Experience (finally!) - LanceRobinson.com - Cybertoad's-Blog-on-Life (which reminds me... why don't you Shave Hoopty?) - Half Mad Spinster - Ardant - dutchbint...
