My many many Internet Moms and my one Real Life Mom will be pleased to know that I finally broke down and went to the doctor today. I am pleased to know that - even though my symptoms had predictably cleared up by the time my appointment rolled around - my doctor trusted that I really do have allergy problems. I am also pleased to know that - thanks to the miracle of insurance - a prescription for Allegra costs me half as much as a box of over-the-counter Claritin. Why have I been suffering for so long? Alright, fine, you guys win. I made a doctor's appointment. But I couldn't get one until Wednesday, and there will probably be some kind of weather shift between now and then, so that I will arrive with my lungs all free and clear to say, "Doctor, you need to give me something for my allergies. In case they come back. Although they're fine now." I am going to Michigan today. On Sunday I am driving back down to Ohio. On Tuesday I am driving to Dayton in order to fly to Detroit and on to Minneapolis for a conference. On Saturday I return to Dayton via Detroit and drive home. I ab hobing that sobewhere in all of by travels I will find a place that I ab not quite as allergic to as Srahtown. I am drowning here. I had my Arabic exam at 7:30 this morning. Who schedules an exam at 7:30am? I don't even have to be at work until 8am. Last week, when I was sick, I made an appointment my mommy made me an appointment at the doctor's office. I couldn't get in until today, and I'm better today. But I figured I'd better go in anyway, just in case. Some background information: I hate my doctor's office. It's actually two offices, full of staff. My dad doesn't have allergy problems. My mom has prescription medicine for it. So whose medicine did I end up taking last night? The dog's. The dog takes people-medicine, so it's not quite as strange as all that, but I feel funny taking medicine that was bought for the dog....
