If you must return me, you can send me here/ But I need a break and I want to be a study advisor

International education as a career isn't necessarily something that just came to me in my last semester at SI. It's the kind of thing I've been interested in for years, but it was bubbling under the surface. For example, over three years ago, I wrote:

"I don't know what I'm doing next year, much less when I'm - dear god - thirty-two. I guess I'll be working in an International Education office somewhere. Sure, we'll say that."

I certainly hope I've got a job in the field by then! I've got another interview in Ohio on the 19th...

Ooh, I live in Ohio! Actually, international living is a goal of mine; so I-education would be a good means for me to do so. In fact, I'm 6/8ths of the way through a Peace Corps application. That's such a good way to be internationally patriotic without joining the military. Hey, why didn't you join SIGN?

Don't steal my jobs! :D

I didn't participate in SIGN because at the beginning of my SI career, I thought it would be better to get involved in SOCHI. Nowadays, I'm realizing SIGN probably would have looked better on my resume, but - hey - I didn't know what I was doing.

There are often opportunities for on-site program directors in other countries. If you're really interested, I can pass them on - I don't know what kind of experience/qualifications they require.
