Are you playing your love games with me? tag:www.srah.net,2008:/weblog//1.4796 2008-02-14T18:00:53Z 2008-06-05T22:26:24Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog Let it be known that the following people, fictional or otherwise, are invited to be my valentine today. (Yes, I keep adding and rearranging people as the day goes on. You wanna make something of it?) Others shall be accepted on a case-by-case basis. In order to apply, you will need to complete the following application form in the comments. Name/Internet handle: I am awesome because: Here are my big exciting Valentine's Day plans (Aren't they enticing? Pick me! Pick me!): Srah is, of course, my first choice for a valentine, but if I had to pick, the runner-up would... Great CD Swap of 2007, Volume 1 tag:www.srah.net,2007:/weblog//1.4677 2007-09-16T16:56:30Z 2007-12-15T13:55:57Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog Another post about music! At least it's not a dream. Tiff recently announced a CD Swap where the theme was "My Favorite Songs from the Past 10 Years." I assembled my playlist, then found that it was 63 songs long. Sigh. So I had to do some pruning. Here's the final tracklisting of the CD that's going out to Tiff on Monday (hidden in the extension in case she doesn't want to be spoiled):... Her art... was the prettiest art... of all the art tag:www.srah.net,2007:/weblog//1.4560 2007-05-17T16:50:13Z 2007-08-15T13:12:59Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog This blog would like to take a moment to announce, before tonight's season finale of The Office, that it supports Pammy Pam "Fancy New" Beesly (Miss Beesly if you're nasty) in all her future endeavours. This blog is firmly Team Pam, rather than Jam, so this blog would be totally cool with it if, say, Jim made a move in tonight's episode and Pam refused him. This blog would think that was awesome, because Fancy New Beesly has made a lot of progress and personal growth this season, what with her courage and honesty and fire-walking and tire-changing and art-showing... 'This is a castle. And we have many tapestries. But if you are a Scottish lord, then I am Mickey Mouse!' tag:www.srah.net,2004:/weblog//1.3368 2004-07-18T01:34:50Z 2007-07-17T11:08:39Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog I think I slept in this morning. We hadn't set a waking-up time, but Jez was ready before I was. We had breakfast (a whole pot of tea for me!) and set off for Loches. Loches is the next sizeable town to St Cyran, so Jez was familiar with the Château de Loches, which is not a big, well-known tourist destination. We walked through the Saturday market and up into the walls of the old part of the city. When we bought our tickets, the ticket-seller saw my magnetic-strip credit card (as opposed to the chip that lots of European... New Year's Festivistities tag:www.srah.net,2004:/weblog//1.2974 2004-01-02T17:16:15Z 2005-09-08T19:24:57Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog For New Year's Eve, I went to a party at Mr B------'s house. We had some drinketies and I watched the others play video games until it was determined that that was sort of BORing. The party travelled upstairs and we watched Big Trouble in Little China, a true cinematic masterpiece wherein Kurt Russell seems to play John Wayne trapped in a kung fu movie, except that he never really does anything. His sidekick's fiancé (with "eyes like creamy jade") gets kidnapped, but he finally gets involved when his beloved truck gets stolen as well. We watched the ball drop,... Excessive use of video games may lead to loss of friends tag:www.srah.net,2003:/weblog//1.2828 2003-11-08T14:23:20Z 2006-11-08T13:17:42Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog "So, srah, what have you been doing with your valuable valuable free time these days?" "Well, I've been playing a lot of Hunter: The Reckoning." (person backs away) "No, seriously! It is fun because I'm the Avenger, who is a big, slow, dumb guy with an axe, so I just swing my axe around in circles and kill eversomany zombies and-- hey! Where did you go?!"... Recently in Vichy (motto: "Casse-toi!"), residents reported an outbreak of video game nerds. Perhaps you think there are no video game nerds in Vichy. Perhaps you are an idiot. As the French say, au contraire (literally: "I can smell you from France.!"). I have here in my hands a copy of an Associated Press article sent in by alert reader Cheryl, whose name can be rearranged to spell "CLHYER", although that is not my main point. "Cheryl", by the way, only has the letters "Ceyl" in in common with "Monica Lewinsky", so... Day 17: 26 June 2002 - "I think Waldo is claustrophobic and drowning." tag:www.srah.net,2002:/weblog//1.1111 2002-06-27T01:47:10Z 2008-01-27T04:48:10Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog We had planned to visit Pato's aunt and uncle, but he couldn't find his wallet so we couldn't go anywhere. Finally, we discovered that it had been left in the car we'd borrowed on Monday, but it was too late to go anywhere. Instead I typed my blog and we watched TV and played video games. I played a truly bad game of Super Mario 64, where during Every Single Level, I would throw the controller at Pato and let him take over after I gave myself two tries not to walk off the edge of a cliff. For tea,... Day 8: 17 June 2002 - "Better than Double-Soup Tuesday" tag:www.srah.net,2002:/weblog//1.1100 2002-06-18T00:50:21Z 2008-01-27T04:48:10Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog We woke up and met Pato's nanny, Rubet, who made us breakfast. We took showers, got dressed, and left the house. Pato hailed a collectivo which is an interesting system of taxis. They're more like a bus, in that they have a fixed rate for all rides (about 35 cents) and a route to follow. But you can hail them as they drive by, like you would a taxi, and they are just regular cars with a sign on top showing which line they belong to. We took the collectivo downtown where we tried to find Pato's friend Rodrigo. It... Cafeteria Food, etc. tag:www.srah.net,2002:/weblog//1.622 2002-02-21T22:02:04Z 2007-02-21T20:54:29Z srah http://www.srah.net/weblog I complain about cafeteria food as much as the next person. But really, we're quite lucky. We may not have a noodle bar, like Wooster, but we do have a lot of interesting foods. You can always find something to eat, if you have enough imagination. I think that's what's wrong with Albion students in a lot of cases. There's nothing to doooooo in Albion... I have no problem finding things to do with my friends. Playing games, watching videos, going to the movies, campus-sponsored events, visiting friends, going out to dinner, or sitting in Baldwin or the KC or...
